Classical music, jazz, cinema, the tradition has been going on for fifteen years: at the end of the summer, young musicians from the Academy and their professors from the Berlin Philharmonic take over churches, chalets and hotels in the village to work, study and give concerts. Come and enjoy a unique experience in Zermatt, where the stunning beauty of nature envelops a festive musical programme, bringing to-gether joyfully and in all simplicity, young musicians, inspired professors and international stars, such as Renaud Capuçon, Ton Koopman and Christian Zacharias!

Right from its first edition in 2005, the formula chosen by the Zermatt Festival Academy has proved a success. About thirty young musicians from all over the world are invited each year to attend an intensive music course, such as the ones formerly directed by Pablo Casals at the foot of the Matterhorn. These highly qualified students benefit from the support of the Berlin Scharoun Ensemble with whom they form the Zermatt Festival Orchestra.
